Damage「ダメージ, Damēji」 is the 233rd chapter of the manga, Nanatsu no Taizai.
Short Summary[]
Following the aftermath of Meliodas's and Escanor's fight, the other Seven Deadly Sins embark on their mission to free the people of Camelot.
Long Summary[]
Diane asks Merlin what happened to the dimensional warp around Camelot. Merlin reveals that the warp is no longer around, due to them defeating Melascula, meaning they can head onward to Camelot. As an unconscious Meliodas floats thanks to Merlin's magic, Elizabeth asks to heal him, even if it's just a bit. Merlin points out that if she heals him, he'll wake up and attack them on the spot, questioning who will be able to stop him like that. Escanor haughtily laughs and claims he'll rough him up as many times as needed. Diane cheers him on as being the strongest, only for Escanor to laugh about how she said something so obvious. Merlin tells him to drop the act and lightly punches Escanor, causing him to immediately fall over.
As the other Sins shout for Escanor, Elaine asks Ban why he isn't joining the group. Reading his mind, Elaine finds that Ban is tormenting himself for not being able to help Meliodas. She hugs him, assuring him that Meliodas wouldn't think like that. As Hawk Mama begins walking to Camelot, in the Boar Hat, Merlin claims the situation is dire. As Meliodas and Escanor lay on different tables, Merlin says that Escanor is more wounded than Meliodas; Sunshine is far too powerful of a magic and he likely over exerted himself for the first time in 10 years to stop the Captain. On the other hand, with his emotions taken by the Demon King, Meliodas has regressed back into his former self, which ironically, made him even stronger.
Meliodas suddenly wakes up and tries to attack, only for Merlin to shoot Shock Stinger at him, knocking him out again. Catching Meliodas, Elizabeth tells Merlin to stop it. Merlin instructs Elizabeth to move away from Meliodas as she's going to seal him away in a Perfect Cube. Elizabeth insists that won't solve anything but Merlin points out that even as they're speaking, Meliodas's darkness is healing his wounds. Elizabeth then asks to be locked inside the Perfect Cube with Meliodas. Hawk questions if she wants to do some kind of lovers' suicide but Elizabeth tells him not to worry and notes that while her magic isn't powerful enough to turn Meliodas back to normal, she should be able to delay his regression.
Merlin relents, creating a Perfect Cube around both Elizabeth and Meliodas. Standing in front of them, Merlin then reveals she will be keeping watch, just to make sure nothing happens. King questions what they'll do since this means that Meliodas, Escanor, Merlin and Elizabeth will all be away from the frontlines. Merlin says that they'll still be heading to Camelot as planned and points out how, now that she's gotten her memories back, Elizabeth only has three days left to live. She calculates that it will take at least two days to get to Camelot and in that time, she will try to find a way to turn Meliodas to normal while waiting for Escanor to recover.
After noting that Zeldris and his minions may come to attack them en route, Merlin tells King, Diane and Gowther that they're the only ones she can count on to defend them. Soon after, King, Diane and Gowther all stand outside as Diane wonders if Meliodas will ever go back to normal. Gowther notes that while Meliodas suffered 78% damage in his fight, Escanor suffered 98% damage and that the chances of Meliodas going back to normal are extremely slim.
King tells Gowther not to be so analytical, only for Gowther to then assert that he wants Meliodas to go back to normal, no matter how bad the odds are. As both he and Diane promise to keep everyone safe, King looks at the remnants of Helbram's helmet. Near Camelot, Orlondi hides within a tree trunk, calling it humiliating for a Vampire Royalty like him to be hiding and having to eat flies. A Green Demon then appears and begins tearing up the land, destroying the tree trunk in the process. Orlondi is forced to fly away and instinctively wraps around someone's finger as he screams for Merlin to help him. That someone asks Orlondi to tell him more about Merlin and Orlondi looks to see Arthur, who has Cath snuggled by his side.
