To Our Captain「団長へ, Danchō e」 is the 239th chapter of the manga, Nanatsu no Taizai.
Short Summary[]
The Seven Deadly Sins conclude their fight with Chandler.
Long Summary[]
Mocking the idea of Meliodas being their destined comrade, Chandler vows to erase the Sins and Elizabeth before firing Grudge Blade. King retaliates by stopping the attack with a dagger from Chastiefol's Fifth Form: Increase and fires another dagger directly at the mage. Chandler reflects it with Full Counter but King manages to block the reflected dagger with another, impressing Chandler. Assured that they can fight him, King tells Elizabeth they'll fight to protect her and Meliodas. Intrigued, Chandler notes that duels like this gets his blood boiling and that his magic has been cut by more than half thanks to the Celestial Arrow from earlier but it should still be enough for the Sins.
Hawk, now normal, tells Gowther that they should hurry up and beat Chandler but Gowther remains silent. Firing a hail of energy bullets, Chandler claims that the existence of the Sins are unnecessary for Meliodas's happiness. King counters with Increase while Ban and Diane charge in. Diane asserts they want the Captain to be happy too but for that, he needs Elizabeth, just like how she needs King, how Ban needs Elaine and how Gowther needed Nadja. She begins punching Chandler but he calls that ridiculous and is about to attack her, only for Ban to come up behind him and hold him in place. He yells for King to do it and King hits both Ban and Chandler with Increase.
While being shredded by King's attack, Ban inwardly admits that he said some pretty mean things to Meliodas without knowing his suffering, admitting that he may be the most unluckiest man in the world. Wanting another chance to apologise, Ban tells him to hurry on back. Chandler figures out that Ban is immortal and finds it inconsequential, slicing his body into multiple pieces. King and Chandler then resume their long-ranged battle. Unable to keep up, King ends up letting an attack through and it hits Elizabeth's back. Diane questions why Chandler is attacking like this, since it will also end up killing Meliodas. Pushing Diane back, Chandler says that if Meliodas isn't able to survive this, then he isn't his Young Master at all.
Healed, Ban tells Chandler to shut up but Chandler effortlessly burns away his upper body. Worried, Hawk requests Gowther to use his powers to stop Chandler. However, Gowther reveals to him that he's been put under an Absolute Order and as long as that mark is on Chandler's hand, he will be unable to go against his orders and will end up broken if he tries. Gowther understands that they'll die if he doesn't help and wishes he could've stayed with the Sins a bit longer. Chandler finally pushes everyone back by overwhelming them with his energy bullets. Outstretching his hand, he declares his love trumps all, only for Hawk to suddenly try and lick the mark on his hand away, an act that touches Gowther.
After smacking Hawk away with his staff, Chandler prepares to end the Sins, only for Elizabeth to use Invigorate to heal them all, asserting that she won't let anyone die nor will she let Chandler take Meliodas. Diane then tells King to do it now but Chandler says it's too late and fires an energy bullet at King, who's summoning First Form: Chastiefol. However, the energy bullet ends up missing and Chandler realises Gowther manipulated his arm to miss, prompting Hawk to presume he managed to lick the mark away. King then drives Chastiefol completely through Chandler's chest, creating a giant hole in it and seemingly defeating him for good. Sighing with relief, King admits that he's completely tired out.
