Seven Deadly Sins[]

Albion arc[]

Demon Clan

Zeldris appearing along with the rest of his fellow Demons: the Ten Commandments.

After Hendrickson managed to remove the seal, Zeldris and the rest of the Ten Commandments appeared before the terrified former Great Holy Knight and Fraudrin in Dreyfus' body with Zeldris uttered Meliodas' name as if he knew him. After being informed by Fraudrin of the current events in Britannia, Zeldris suggested that they should head for Edinburgh Hill for the recuperation of their severely drained magical powers due to the seal they're trapped in, which everyone agreed and left Zhuhur Valley by flight, leaving a terrified Hendrickson.

Zeldris ordering the other Commandments to destroy Britannia.

Arriving at Edinburgh Hill, Zeldris and his fellow Ten Commandments find a castle in ruins and concludes that it was Meliodas who caused the destruction of the castle as if there was a great battle fought there before noticing his brother Estarossa in a laid-back self, relaxing in the castle's ruins much to Zeldris' chagrin. After talking about the destruction of the Albions, one of them presumably defeated by Meliodas, making Galand decide to go and check it out. Zeldris stops him saying his cockiness was what caused them to lose before, but Galand leaves nonetheless, much to Zeldris annoyance. Later on, the Commandments continued to rest and recover their magical power through the souls of humans they devoured and were shocked when they sensed Meliodas regain his full Demon powers at Istar.

Istar arc[]

Zeldris and Fraudrin attempt to slice Meliodas

Suddenly, Meliodas appeared out of nowhere through Merlin's teleportation and casually greeted the Ten Commandments who were alarmed of his sudden presence, Zeldris attempt to fight but Galand stopped them because he was determined to finish off where he started. Meliodas battled and defeated Galand in less than ten seconds before warning Zeldris that the Seven Deadly Sins will defeat the Ten Commandments with everything they've got. In response, Zeldris and Fraudrin attempted to attack Meliodas from both sides, but he was teleported back to Istar. Afterword, Zeldris suggest the Ten Commandments to split up and move across the land to regain their magic faster while calming Galand down after his loss against Meliodas. However, Zeldris remained behind as Estarossa refused to move as he wanted to relax after being sealed for so long while Zeldris decided to look around.

Great Fight Festival arc[]

Zeldris Meliodas

Zeldris faces Meliodas

Zeldris is revealed to have toppled the Kingdom of Camelot's royal capital, single-handedly, seemingly having parted ways with Estarossa.[1]

Later on he, along with the other Commandments, arrive to aid Drole and Gloxinia who are facing off against Meliodas.[2] As he stands face to face with his brother, Meliodas immediately attempts to slash him across the chest. Completely unfazed, Zeldris was able to not only avoid the attack but cuts Meliodas' arm off. Meliodas then kicks him in the face and attempts to reattach his arm, but Zeldris, unharmed, steps on it to prevent it from reattaching, and calls Grayroad over to place his Jubaku Ensa on Meliodas, to prevent him from escaping.[3] Zeldris later tells a now severely beaten Meliodas that his death will be the first part of their revenge and if it were not for his betrayal, the Demon Clan would have not been defeated in the war.[4]

Defensive Battle for Liones arc[]

Zeldris saving Estarossa

Zeldris saving Estarossa

A month after the death of Meliodas, Zeldris and the Ten Commandments continue with their conquest of Britannia. During the invasion of Liones, Zeldris manages to get several Holy Knights and civilians to fall under the effect of his Piety Commandment and become the blind slaves of the Demon King and himself. After Fraudrin praised his Commandment, he tells him how weak he is and is annoyed, then both feel the incredible concentration of power of Escanor and go to the castle to know what happens. There they witness the fight between Escanor and Estarossa, Zeldris is surprised that someone is able to battle his brother. When the fight moves out of Liones and Estarossa seems to win the upper hand, Zeldris says he has already decided, but Escanor manages to release an attack strong enough to obliterate Estarossa and send him away. Zeldris tries to help him, but only manages to be absorbed by the attack and sent remotely far away along with Estarossa.

Corand arc[]

Elizabeth faces Zaldris

Zeldris meet with Elizabeth

It is revealed that Zeldris survived Escanor's attack. In Camelot, Zeldris senses Merlin scouting Camelot in search of Arthur Pendragon using Orlondi. He swiftly attacks the mage with his magic through Orlondi and manages to curse her, but she manages to escape before Zeldris can kill her, impressing him.

While Elizabeth tries to cure Merlin, Zeldris came to see who was trying to cure Merlin and was visibly shocked at seeing her again but quickly recovers. Zeldris immediately starts mockingly greeting her, saying it is been quite a while since they last met and calling her a pitiful woman before getting angry when Elizabeth demands he tells her what he means. Zeldris calls her "Cursed Goddess Elizabeth" and asks her if she still brings Meliodas suffering while revealing he is Meliodas younger brother. When Elizabeth confusingly asks Zeldris on his words, Zeldris realizes the rumor of the Curse is true and reveals what he knows to her while annoyingly answering that it is off course her when Elizabeth questions on Meliodas' lover. When Elizabeth smiles, Zeldris is shocked and asks her on it. He gets angry when she tells him of what she dreamed of was true before forcefully restoring her memories while telling her to remember everything and to know the true depth of her sin.

Prelude to the New Holy War arc[]

Sometime later in Camelot, Zeldris tries to remove Excalibur from its place, but he did not even budge it, as Zeldris comments on the blade's magic being completely different from that of demons

At that moment, a Gray Demon comes and informs him that over one hundred demons have been killed, but they still do not know who the culprit is. Zeldris is annoyed by this and decides that he will personally punish the criminal.

Zeldris talks with the Demon King

Zeldris talking with his father

Then, Zeldris is contacted by his father who tells him that Meliodas will replace him as the Demon King, and he is to accept his elder brother as his new king, much to Zeldris' anger. Reluctantly agreeing when the Demon King sternly told him to not argue and retrieve Meliodas, Zeldris telepathically calls the other Commandments but none of them responds to him except Gloxinia and Drole, who told him that they have abandoned the Commandments and are enemies of the Demon Clan. Disappointed and angered with the Giant and Fairy Kings decision, Zeldris responds by stripping them of their Demonic power and Commandments before cutting off contact without another word after saying that a Giant and Fairy could never properly work with the Demon Clan. Enraged over the fact that the 10 Commandments have essentially been wiped out, with Estarossa still in coma, Zeldris enlarges his demon mark and unleashes his aura, saying he alone is enough to crush the Seven Deadly Sins, and he will show his father who is truly worthy of being the next King of the Demons.

At that moment, two demons, Cusack and Chandler, appears, much to Zeldris' pleasant surprise. Noting that his former mentor and Meliodas' former teacher's power is more than enough to fill in the vacancy of the missing Ten Commandments, Zeldris reveals to Chandler that his father has ordered him to rescue Meliodas and crown him as the new Demon King. He blatantly answers Cusack's evident criticism of the order by saying even he can never understand what the Demon King is thinking. When Chandler happily leaves to do so alone, Zeldris says aside from Chandler, there is no other demon more capable of defeating the Seven Deadly Sins. Right there, Estarossa wakes up momentarily from his coma, claiming that they do not leave him aside and asking if Meliodas is really still alive. While Zeldris recommends him not force himself until he has healed completely, Cusack hides his concerns thinking to himself about how Estarossa is probably stronger than Zeldris and as unpredictable as Meliodas. While they wait for Chandler, Zeldris and Cusack discuss the attitudes of the Pacifier Demon and his inevitable victory if he were to unleash his authentic form leaving aside his obsession with Meliodas.

Zeldris and Estarossa ready to attack Meliodas

Estarossa and Zeldris ready to attack Meliodas

When Meliodas finally returns accompanied by Chandler and Elizabeth, Zeldris receives him at the castle praising his guts. When Meliodas claims that he intends to become the Demon King, Zeldris affirms that he will be the one to have said position. After Estarossa shared his disagreement with Meliodas, the two jump to attack him. However, Meliodas effortlessly subdued both of them with his darkness, immobilizing them against the ground with great pressure. Zeldris tries to prevent Cusack from intervening and cannot believe that he can not move even with the power that his father gave him, realizing the Demon King was right and Meliodas really has returned to full strength the strength of his brother. After being released, Zeldris refuses to accept that Meliodas becomes the Demon King, knowing that he only wants that to break the curse that lies on him and Elizabeth. Meliodas says he wanted to achieve it by taking the magic that the Demon King had lent to Zeldris but then says that he already understands that this will not be enough. Zeldris resumes his fierce attack on Meliodas claiming that he will become the Demon King, but he is easily overcome. When Meliodas catches him, he tells him that he knows the reason for his obsession with the throne, going on to tell him something that only Zeldris can hear. Suddenly, Zeldris decided to collaborate with Meliodas reluctantly, leaving Cusack and Estarossa impacted. Zeldris agrees that Meliodas will not reach his father's level with the borrowed power he possesses or training. When Meliodas reveals his plan to absorb the Ten Commandments to reach the power of his father, Estarossa asks Zeldris if that is possible, leading Zeldris to reveal that he has the Commandments of Gloxinia, Drole, and Gowther, and quickly puts them away when Estarossa tries to take them. Zeldris uses the spell that removes Commandments in Estarossa but this does not work, revealing Zeldris that the only way to remove a Commandment from its bearer is that it is his consent or that he is unable to fight in response. Zeldris asks Meliodas how he intends to obtain the Commandments because they can not take them voluntarily as happened with Drole, Gloxinia, and Gowther. There Estarossa asks what would happen if they were dead, revealing Zeldris that then the Commandment could be removed without problems of the corpse. Zeldris is surprised to discover that Grayroad was defeated by Merlin and that Meliodas has her Commandment. Zeldris affirms that Meliodas recognizes his place when he says that he can not accompany them to retrieve the other Commandments given that nobody would deliver them to a traitor of the Demon Clan. Before leaving in search of the Commandments, Zeldris warns Estarossa not to try to keep the Commandments for himself.

Zeldris with the commandments

Zeldris reveals the Commandments in his possession

Following the weak trace of Melascula's magic, Zeldris arrives at the Boar Hat where he is confronted by Merlin and the other Sins. Zeldris claims not to know Merlin when she recognizes him, but when Merlin flies back to her original form, Zeldris identifies her as the girl who received the blessings of the Demon King and the Supreme Deity, impressing the other Sins.

Zeldris and Merlin go to heavens in order to have a negotiation for Melascula. Along the way, Zeldris tells the whole story about Merlin's past in Belialuin, which is heard by the Sins through a magical plant that Merlin left behind. When Zeldris ask about her intentions, Merlin also asks about the reason for what he is helping Meliodas to obtain the Commandments and become the Demon King. When Zeldris denies given answers and insists that Merlin deliver him to Melascula, Merlin locks her into her Perfect Cube, forcing Zeldris to give her something in exchange for Melascula. Merlin requests that he hand over to Elizabeth and Arthur, but Zeldris denies because Meliodas would interfere with the first and his ignorance about the location or state of the second. Zeldris finally agrees to release all the Liones' Holy Knights and civilians who were under the effect of his Piety.

Zeldris and Merlin

Zeldris negotiate with Merlin

Zeldris insists to Merlin that he fulfills her part, but this is limited to rambling. When Zeldris warns her to cut her if she tries to do something, Merlin says she will not do anything. At that time, Ludociel, who possessed the body of Princess Margaret, attacked Zeldris from the Druid temple where Gilthunder was a prisoner. After Merlin escaped with Melascula, Zeldris emerges having survived and realizes that the Four Archangels are revived: He then attacks Ludociel with his Dies Irae.

Zeldris returns with Meliodas and their masters regretting that he did not recover Melascula's Commandment and reveals to them that Ludociel and the other Archangels had been revived. When Meliodas reveals that the Four Archangels have allied with Elizabeth the Seven Deadly Sins, Zeldris delights in her escaping from Meliodas.

Some later, Zeldris and Cusack are surprised at seeing Arthur prowling around the castle. When they ask him his identity, Arthur reveals to be the king of Camelot, allowing Zeldris to deduce that he is looking for Excalibur. Cath manages to distract the demons to give Arthur the possibility of escape.

When Arthur manages to find Excalibur, he is attacked on the back by Zeldris and Cusack, who show Cath completely wounded and defeated. There, Meliodas appears revealing that he had betrayed his friends, causing Arthur to defy them after brandishing Excalibur. While discussing with Meliodas the strange magic of the sword, Arthur manages to cut Cusack and Chandler in half and destroy much of the castle. Zeldris then attacks Arthur, but he blocks all his attacks without having to see them, which Zeldris recognizes as Mumyo no Mai. Zeldris wonders how he knows that old technique to which Arthur tells him not to underestimate humans, proceeding to attack him with Deathpecker. Both Meliodas and Zeldris recognize these techniques as those belonging to the ancient masters of the sword and understand that they are dealing with the power of Excalibur. Arthur manages to evade the attacks of Meliodas and Zeldris and deal with them blunt blows with Excalibur. However, these fail to make a dent in the two demons.

New Holy War arc[]

Zeldris hears Meliodas's apologies

Zeldris hears Meliodas' apologies

Just before the Holy War was unleashed, Zeldris gives Meliodas all the Commandments he had in his possession, including his own. When he can no longer wait for Estarossa, Meliodas proceeds to absorb the five Commandments in his body. Before this, Zeldris reminds Meliodas of the whole reason why he agreed to help him become Demon King and Meliodas says that he will keep his promise after becoming Demon King. Zeldris says he is counting on it and Meliodas then asks Zeldris for forgiveness for the kind of older brother he has been. Zeldris does not answer but looks away, implying he is contemplating forgiving Meliodas.

Zeldris and Ludociel faces each other

Zeldris and Ludociel faces each other

Zeldris watches next to Cusack the cocoon in which Meliodas was, affirming that the absorption of the Commandments was being carried out correctly and that the body of Meliodas accepted them without problems. Zeldris says that they should look for the other Commandments as soon as possible and deal with them.

While waiting for Meliodas to come out of the cocoon, Zeldris, Cusack, and Chandler are met at the castle by the Assault Force. The three demons are faced with Escanor, Merlin, and Ludociel. Ludociel personally confronts Zeldris, saying that it is the first time they come face to face, to what Zeldris responds that it will be the last.

Zeldris and Ludociel exchanges swords

Zeldris and Ludociel exchanges swords

When the battle begins, Zeldris watches as Escanor attacks Meliodas' cocoon to which he tells him to get it all out of his system. Zeldris, Cusack, and Chandler are then assaulted by Merlin's Double Impact. Ludociel happens to confront Zeldris, noting that his skill in swordsmanship is the fastest in all the Demon Realm. After a swift exchange of swordplay, Ludociel receives a small cut on the cheek, while Zeldris receives the same injury followed by a large cut on the arm. Ludociel calls him rude for hurting a woman's face, to which Zeldris response that Meliodas would never take away a woman's body for himself. Ludociel intercepts the advance of Zeldris with his Gold Shining. He is slightly surprised when Zeldris emerges unscathed, assuming it is the power of the Demon King. Chandler and Cusack depart when Zeldris assumes the position that will release his original power, worrying both demons. Zeldris affirms that Ludociel will see his full power.

Zeldris recalls what Meliodas told him when he convinced him to help him become the Demon King: that Gelda is still alive, and how he re-sealed her twelve years ago when she wanted to die. This makes Zeldris remembers the moment when he sealed the Vampire Clan when Gelda tells him that while it is sealed she will remember all her days with him.

Zeldris dominates the Assault Force

Zeldris dominates the Assault Force

Ludociel claims that the victory in the Holy War will be for the Goddesses, but Zeldris tells him he has no interest in petty games like that. Zeldris then proceeds to use his original power, Ominous Nebula, creating an incredible force of attraction, which draws the Assault Force towards him. Zeldris claims that they must get out of their way, releasing an attack that leaves Ludociel, Escanor, Hendrickson, and Gilthunder wounded against the wall. Zeldris creates another force of attraction, but Escanor and Ludociel manage to hold on to it, while Hendrickson and Gilthunder are kept away in safety by Merlin's teleportation.

Ludociel is carried away to attack Zeldris, however, is only repelled and embedded against the wall like last time.

There, Ludociel and Escanor decide to attack together. Ludociel uses his Ruby Shine to blind Zeldris with a bright light while Escanor causes a huge explosion with his Cruel Sun to camouflage their presences. Convinced that Zeldris will not be able to counterattack without being able to anticipate them, Ludociel and Escanor launch themselves on him, but to his surprise, both are rejected in the same way once again.

Zeldris declares that it is time to stop wasting time and get serious, then increase the pressure and speed of his power. Merlin, already unable to escape with her teleportation, is at the mercy of the Zeldris attack who tells her that the first thing he will do is take away the Commandment. However, Escanor manages to shield her from the blow of Zeldris.

Escanor and Zeldris collide

Zeldris colliding with Escanor

In his fury, Escanor releases his Crazy Prominence. Zeldris manages to divert with his sword all the mini suns that go towards him but ends up causing a huge piece of the ceiling to fall on him. However, he is capable of destroying it and leaving unharmed without problems. Ludociel jumps to attack him once more, only so that he and Gilthunder who jump to protect him receive an even stronger blow from the power of Zeldris.

Zeldris declares that Escanor is the last one still standing. However, Escanor, assuming the power of The One, manages to advance without being absorbed by the Ominous Nebula. Seeing such a fact, Zeldris asks if he is some kind of monster. When Escanor tells about how he defeated Meliodas, Zeldris says that then he should not fight seriously because of the habit of underestimating his opponents that he developed due to being too strong. Zeldris declares that he is not like that and that he always uses his full power no matter who he faces.

Escanor pierces Zeldris

Zeldris pierced by Escanor

Considering it a joke, Escanor attacks him with Rhitta. However, the Ominous Nebula manages to repel his attack, but only causing Escanor a few scrapes in the arm. When Escanor drops his weapon, Zeldris says he would do it to beg for his life, but he does not seem willing to do that. Escanor uses Divine Sword Escanor, colliding with the Ominous Nebula that is unable to repel it. Zeldris asks why a human takes such a risk in a fight between Demons and Goddesses, to which Escanor says that he does everything for the sake of his friends. Zeldris denies that Escanor can call Meliodas his "friend", stating that he has no place for those boring feelings and there increases the power of his Ominous Nebula, managing to push Escanor. However, the power of Escanor ends up being superior, breaking his Ominous Nebula and forcing Zeldris to intercept him with his sword.

Zeldris is forced to retreat, however, Escanor intercepts him with his Divine Spear Escanor, piercing his chest with his finger and leaving him very wounded. As Escanor returns to his night form before being able to finish him off, Zeldris needed less than a second to come to himself and one more second to reactivate his God power. This gives Ludociel enough time to strike him full with his Gold Shining, leaving Zeldris in very bad condition.

Ludociel finish Zeldris off

Ludociel finish Zeldris off

When Ludociel was about to finish him off, Cusack intervenes by stopping the Archangel with his swords. When Cusack asks Zekdris to let him take care of him, he agrees as long as he does not allow anyone to disturb Meliodas. Zeldris asks Cusack to make them understand the true scope of his power and that of Chandler as the demons of higher rank and superior to the Ten Commandments and himself. When Cusack tells him that he will be the one to surpass him, Zeldris does not understand what he is referring to.

When Cusack and Chandler are assaulted by Merlin's magical attacks, Zeldris fails to understand how she does it without showing any behavior. Zeldris is forced to intercept the attacks and cancel them with his God power. However, Zeldris begins to succumb to his wounds, and Ludociel slashes him with his Ark blade.

When the spell that Gowther had used 3,000 years ago began to fall apart because Meliodas and the Demon King discovered the truth, Zeldris and Cusack, like all those who were under its influence, begin to suffer the effects of the spell that kept their memories altered. Thus, Zeldris recognizes that his supposed brother "Estarossa" is actually the Archangel Mael.

While Merlin and Ludociel suffer the impact of their memories returning, Zeldris, like Cusack and Chandler, manages to recover completely. Knowing that the psychological impact of the truth would cause great commotion the closer a person was to Mael, Merlin wonders why Zeldris does not suffer any effect. Zeldris explains that it is because he never looked up to Estarossa as a brother anyway, in fact feeling relieved to discover that he really was not.

Zeldris protects the Original Demon

Zeldris protects the Original Demon

Zeldris says it is time for the second round, but Cusack tells him he and Chandler will take over. Zeldris asks him why they insist on fighting alone in such a situation. Cusack and Chandler declare that it is their duty to take charge of the enemy so that Zeldris can save his power to face the Seven Deadly Sins. There, Chandler and Cusack decide to join in their original form, talking about a demon called the "Original Demon", who was punished by the Demon King when trying to dethrone him and divided into two teachers for his children. Zeldris shows confusion to their words, wondering exactly what they are. Cusack gives a farewell to his disciple before converging with Chandler into the "Original Demon".

When the Original Demon is hit by Chastiefol, Zeldris realizes that the Seven Deadly Sins are reaching Camelot, but he also feels another great magic reaching there.

As Chastiefol turns into True Sunflower and releases his power destroying most of Camelot, Zeldris aids the Original Demon by blocking the attack thanks to God effect. Zeldris ask the Original Demon to take charge of Escanor and Merlin while he deals with Chastiefol.

Zeldris fighting the Guardian

Zeldris fighting King's Chastiefol

In the battle, Zeldris deals with Chastiefol True Increase and tells the distant King that he can not defeat him and that all of that is useless resistance. However, King changes Chastiefol into True Guardian and manages to hurt Zeldris with several physical blows. Zeldris then reveals to the Sins that they are not the only ones reaching Camelot since the Commandments that Mael have expelled are coming to rejoin with the others. As the four Commandments appears and joins with Melascula's Commandment, Zeldris tells Gelda that it will not be long now as the five decrees arrive at Meliodas's cocoon.

There, Merlin refuses to give up and prepares to use Chrono Coffin, which both Zeldris and the Original Demon recognizes with disbelief as the forbidden art capable of suspending time. The two are preparing to take down Merlin before she completes the spell and leaves the cocoon suspended in time. However, Zeldris is intercepted by King, who is preparing to protect Merlin with True Guardian.

As Zeldris keeps fighting Chastiefol, a great power of light erases the darkness over Camelot. With the arrival of the Sins, Zeldris smiles as he welcomes the person in charge who is no longer Estarossa but Mael.

Mael fights Zeldris

Mael fights Zeldris

Zeldris tells him that he must have returned to heaven as soon as he woke up, but he is surprised when Mael states that he has not come to fight and tries to convince him to retire the demon army of Britannia and stop helping Meliodas to be the Demon King.

When Mael releases his Greatest Sun against the Original Demon, Zeldris protects himself with God, reminding him that no magical attack has an effect on him. In response to his previous request, Zeldris uses his darkness to attack Merlin, overcoming Ludociel's Ark barrier by dividing it into small dark creatures. However, Elizabeth and the Seven Deadly Sins manage to protect Merlin, who has five minutes to complete the Chrono Coffin.

Zeldris slash Mael

Zeldris slash Mael

Mael manages to catch Zeldris' arm and throw him to the ground. Zeldris then releases his Ominous Nebula, attracting Mael with his vacuum. However, before he can attack, Zeldris' sword melts by Mael's Sunshine.

Mael and Zeldris engage in hand to hand combat, in which Mael manages to take the lead. Mael there tries to ends the fight peacefully reclaiming that even under false memories, they used to be brothers and that they can come to an understanding by talking. As Zeldris states that Estarossa would laugh of hear that and rebuild his sword with darkness, Mael fights him again with two ark blades on his hands, overcoming Zeldris again. As the Chrono Coffin only least three minutes to complete, Mael points that he is panicking, unlike his cold and stoic self. He asks if he wants to win the Holy War until the point of left his only brother to become something like the Demon King. As Zeldris appears at his back and slashes him with his blades, Mael cannot understand from where comes his desperate blood-curdling. Zeldris claims that Meliodas wants to be the Demon King and that he must be outside his way. Zeldris then manages to cut Mael leaving him on the floor and attacks the Sins with his darkness.

Mael defeats Zeldris

Mael defeats Zeldris

With just one minute left, Zeldris tries to stop Merlin, but his attacks are blocked by King's Pollen Garden who states that he can no longer win. Even so, Zeldris continues his desperate barrage of attacks but Mael appears and slash him in the back. As he can barely stand, Zeldris remembers Meliodas' promise of reviving Gelda after becoming the Demon King. As Chrono Coffin is completed and the cocoon is suspended in time, Zeldris finally falls to the ground saying Gelda's name.

In that moment is revealed that Meliodas have emerged from the coocoon before it was suspended in time. Zeldris laughs saying that he must keep his promise, referring to him as Demon King. Zeldris demands to be tell where Gelda is, but that individual before him is revealed to be his father possessing Meliodas's body, stating that Zeldris remains attached to Gelda is a disgrace. Zeldris demands his father explain why he is in the body of his brother after having told him to crown him as his successor, leading the Demon King to reveal that he never intended to give the throne to his treacherous son and that what he really wanted was a young and strong body. Zeldris is astonished to know that absorb the Commandments in fact turned Meliodas into his father's vessel.

Zeldris stops the Tansoku no Kenjin

Zeldris stops his father's attack

When the Demon King unleashes an attack on the Sins and Archangels, Zeldris manages to intercept it and pierce his father's Tansoku no Kenjin with his sword saving everyone. After Zeldris disperse the spell, the Demon King ask him what he is doing. Ignoring the question, Zeldris demands that his father leave the body of Meliodas as he has business with him, but before that Zeldris asks his father if he ordered the execution of the vampires knowing of the relationship he had with Gelda. The Demon King reveals that he knew all along thanks to the information recollected by the Commandments. He insults Zeldris and his dream of bringing peace and harmony to the underworld calling it something preposterous and saying he has no more need for him as he has rebelled against him. Then the Demon King creates a new creature, Setsuna no Inja, and sends him to attack his son.

The Demon King giving Zeldris the final blow

The Demon King gives Zeldris a mortal blow

While Zeldris is having problems dealing with Setsuna no Inja, he thought to himself that while he has still not forgiven Meliodas for his betrayal, he acknowledges that Meliodas, unlike him, had the resolve to make the entire world his enemy for the sake of those he cares about. At that moment, Zeldris activates his Ominous Nebula and attracts the creature destroying him completely. As Zeldris demands again that his father gets out of Meliodas' body, the Demon King shoots a lightning bolt that split Zeldris torso in half. As Zeldris falls, he knows that Meliodas can change everything and leave the rest in Meliodas hands.

The Commandments enter Zeldris' body

After the Demon King is forced out of Meliodas' body, Zeldris is found unconscious by Cusack and Chandler. After Chandler suggests they leave him to die, Cusack kills him and leave, taking Zeldris and the ten Commandments, while the Seven Deadly Sins are celebrating their victory and runs away without them noticing.

In a cave, Zeldris is tended by Cusack who begins to force the Commandments into him as he begins to regain consciousness. Zeldris is horrified to see what Cusack is doing as he realizes that absorbing all the Commandments will allow the Demon King to take him as a new vessel. Zeldris pleads for him to stop but is unable to get his voice out as Cusack forces him to absorb the Commandments, which eventually allows the Demon King to take control of his body and kill his mentor.

Zeldris trapped in the spiritual world

Zeldris trapped in the spiritual world

Zeldris awakens within his spiritual world. When he remembers what happened, he repeatedly asks his father to return his body. However, the Demon King creates an illusion of Gelda who affirms that it is the separate spirit of the true Gelda that was killed by Meliodas and the Sins and that Meliodas lied to him when he told him that he had sealed her in order to Zeldris help him gather the Commandments. Zeldris does not believe her and says that she is not real because his father would never allow her to be there. The illusion of Gelda tells him that his father has authorized their relationship and that now both can be together forever without having to hide. Consumed by the desire to be with Gelda, Zeldris stops trying to recover his body and the Demon King takes full control.

Zeldris return to his senses

Zeldris return to his senses

Falling asleep, Zeldris briefly wakes up in Gelda's arms saying that he have a dream. The illusion of Gelda asks him what he dreamed, Zeldris tells him that it was a long time ago, when he admired his brother so much that he practically persecuted him, but every time he tried to talk to him he was too scared to do it until he stopped trying. Gelda asks him if he was so afraid of Meliodaas, but Zeldris tells him that he feared his father because he had never understood him. Zeldris says he would have liked to talk more with his brother, not about how to use a sword or kill the enemy, but about how to hunt, about the worlds beyond the Demon Realm what he wanted to travel, about what he liked to drink, about Gelda, just shooting the breeze.

The illusion tells him that he is ridiculous and that he no longer has to worry about those things and that he can only sleep in his lap. Zeldris goes back to sleep thinking that everything is done and gone, as his conscience begin to vanish.

Illusions of Zeldris

Zeldris hided between illusions

When Gowther and Meliodas enter the spiritual world and finds Zeldris caught in strings, Meliodas screams to wake him up. Seeing him, Zeldris asks him what he does there, to which Meliodas replies that he has come to save him. Zeldris asking him if he has gone crazy, which Meliodas says yes. The fake Gelda tells him not to listen to him, that he has killed her, that he will betray him again and that she is the only one who really loves him. Zeldris tells her that he already knew, that she is not the true Gelda but that he really wanted it to be. She insists that she is the only one who loves him, to which Zeldris says that shows him that she is fake, because the true Gelda would never say something like that.

While the fake Gelda disappears, a fog covers the place while the Demon King's voice calls Zeldris fool for following the same path as his brother. The Demon King then creates many illusions of Zeldris to confuse Meliodas, since if he does not distinguish the true one, he will be expelled from the spiritual world like Gowther by preventing him from destroying an illusion.

Zeldris' conscience reflected in the illusions asks Meliodas to go and kill him with his father, preferring to die to give him his body. Meliodas asks him not to give up because Gelda is waiting for him. Zeldris tries to ask her to say something to her, but Meliodas insists that he himself will do it. There, the true Gelda appears in the spiritual world, determined to find the true Zeldris.

Despite all Zeldris affirm to be the real one, Gelda could recognize the true Zeldris in an instant. Zeldris asks incredulously if she is real, to which Gelda reacts angrily that he is not able to distinguish her from a false one. A frightened Zeldris is excused that he meant that he could not believe she was there, confirming in turn by her attitude that she is real, which pleases Gelda.

Before Gelda can free Zeldris, the fake ones, controlled by the Demon King, attack her. However, Meliodas shields her saying that Zeldris needs her more than anyone else and that he leaves him in her hands.

After Meliodas destroys the false ones and releases Zeldris, he falls into Gelda's arms, happily reunited. Meliodas then begins to disappear from the spirit world, Zeldris asks if he really went to save him, to which Meliodas asks him to let him act as an appropriate older brother for once, since he is his only younger brother in the world. Meliodas tells Zeldris before disappearing that they will see each other on the other side, to which Zeldris promises no matter what it costs

The Demon King finally appears in front of Zeldris and Gelda saying that his body already belongs to him and that he will never see his brother again. Zeldris replies saying the he must just take him down.

The Demon King shows Zeldris an illusion about the confrontation he had with Meliodas when he decided to leave the Demon Clan, in it Meliodas states that he will not hesitate to kill him when he gives up the moment and that he never considered him his little brother to begin with. The Demon King states that this is the true nature of the brother he intends to trust and that he only intends to deceive him. Zeldris, however, is not fooled and destroys the illusion with a slash of his sword, damaging the Demon King as well. Zeldris reproaches him that no matter how many lies he throws at him, he knows what really is in Meliodas' heart even though he once convinced himself that he had betrayed him. Gelda is pleased about his declaration, telling him that he must say that in front of Meliodas but Zeldris thinks he is not emotionally ready. Gelda then suggest to tell Meliodas herself, to which Zeldris refuses.

The Demon King exclaims that he does not understand what a father feels for having to kill his beloved son with his own hands, just before giving a great blow. Zeldris jumps out of his attack with Gelda, stating that he never felt any love on his part and that if he is going to resort to the pity to get his point across, he has really fallen.

The Demon King gives another sword strike telling him not to be arrogant and that if he thinks that if someone like him can ever bested him. Zeldris jumps giving him a strong blow of his sword in the head, saying that although he is not as strong as his father or Meliodas, being in the spirit world has full fighting opportunity given that like Meliodas, he also has someone to risk his life for.

The two engage in a sword fight where the Demon King says he will never fall before a weakling that is under a woman's thumb. As Zeldris is pushed back, he tells his father that he will never understand the strength that loving and being loved by someone can give you. Zeldris quickly asks Gelda not to tell Meliodas that he said that either.

Zeldris tells his father that in those moments his pride is destroyed and his heart is weakened, because he was already defeated by the emotions of Meliodas he considered weak and is now being defeated again. The Demon King asks him if he thinks he could be defeated twice and says he can't know what's going on outside. Zeldris says he knows it because he trusts his older brother.

Zeldris then unleashes his Ominous Nebula, and the Demon King asks him if he is really going to challenge his father like that. Zeldris only says that he already told him that he was going to defeat him, before seriously injuring him with his power.

The Commandments leaving Zeldris's body

With the Demon King practically defeated both in the spirit world and in the real world, the Commandments begin to leave Zeldris's body until they completely detaches from him, allowing Zeldris to recover his physical body. However, the Demon King's conscience refuses to let his vessel go and tries to retrieve it. However, Ban snatch Zeldris away before the Commandments can possess him again.

Zeldris wakes up extremely injured in Gelda's arms, where Meliodas congratulates him for having defeated his father. Embarrassed, Zeldris hides his head in Gelda's chest saying that of course he did. Meliodas makes fun of saying that Zeldris really is a boobs kinda guy, which Zeldris denies.

Enraged, the Demon King rises and saying that they observe him, the Commandments separate and disperse in the surrounding area beginning to take over every living being, rock and hill. Thus, the Demon King stands with a new, gigantic and monstrous vessel created from the same land of Britannia.

The Demon King says he can see the faces of people in Britannia crumpled in fear all thanks to the sinful foolies they have commited. He then shouts to be resigned to their deaths because there is no greater crime than opposing the Demon King. However, the Seven Deadly Sins makes a completely confident face. The Demon King demands to know why they have that expression on their faces, to which each Sin and also Zeldris remarks that they are not afraid of him and that he has no chance of winning.

As the Seven Deadly Sins combines their powers in their ultimate technique, the Demon King ask Meliodas and Zeldris if they really are content with killing their own father. As Meliodas send a clone to Full Countering the technique, the Demon King tries to kill him, just as the true Meliodas declares that he can now eliminate him without hestiation. Zeldris notes that Meliodas's clones doubles the power of the Sins's technique each time they use Full Counter. With this, Meliodas sends the attack to the Demon King, killing him once and for all.

In the resultant destruction, Mael helps Zeldris from a falling but Zeldris rejects needing his help.

While watching his friends talk randomly, Meliodas is asked for Zeldris about how did he make the combined attack with enough power to destroy Britannia affect only the Demon King. Meliodas then show him the water bolb that remains from Lake Salisbury, which has absorbed all the excess of power from their attack. Zeldris says that is impresive that he was able to make that call so quickly, but Meliodas explains that it was Merlin who did it, leading Zeldris to call Merlin too crafty.

Diane then calls for Meliodas to show that the Commandments are still there. Merlin explains that despite the fact that they defeated the Demon King, his power could revive after decades or centuries, but that there is a way to completely destroy him. Meliodas then releases his original magic power that impresses Zeldris with his power level that even surpass their father. Meliodas then pretends to throw all his power to the Commandments to completely destroy them along the Demon King. Zeldris stops him, stating that with that kind of power Meliodas could replace the Demon King. Meliodas agree that he could rule the Demon Realm with fear like his father did, but that it is not his wish nor Zeldris's as his wish was to create a pacifist world to live with Gelda. Zeldris realizes that power is not what they want and let Meliodas destroy the Commandments.

As everything is over, Meliodas declares that is time for a celebratory drink and invites Zeldris to join them. Zeldris says that he doesn’t want to be around people but he will think about it if it's one to one.

With the end of the battle, Gelda and Zeldris leave to go their own way.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light[]

Six months after the end of the war, Gelda and Zeldris were fishing on the banks of a river where they meet Meliodas and Elizabeth. Zeldris continues to show a bad attitude towards Meliodas despite everything that has happened, cuasing Gelda to reprimend him. When they found a wounded demon saying that the Demon Realm was invaded, the four decides go to see what happens, with Meliodas convincing Zeldris by winning a game of rock, paper, scissors.

Arriving at the Demon Realm completely free of their miasma, they are all confronted by the invaders who are revealed to be Dahlia and Dubs. The two are confronted by Meliodas and Zeldris, with Zeldris being Dahlia' opponent. With Zeldris apparently overwhelming Dahlia in Magic Power, Dahlia acknowledges his disadvantageous Magic Power and counterattacked with sheer physical power, quickly knocking out Zeldris and Gelda and sending them thrown away.

Gelda manages to get Zeldris out of the rubble by gaining strength by drinking his blood and taking him to the hiding place of the demons that oppose the invasion where Zeldris manages to put all demons on his side explaining why Meliodas killed the Demon King. The two later release Meliodas and Elizabeth from Dubs' staff prison, interrupting a kiss the two shared.

Upon joining the demons that were fighting Dahlia and Dubs, the demon brothers began their rematch with the Demon Realm takers, but Meliodas and Zeldris quickly switched opponent and Dubs is quickly struck by Zeldris instead. Dubs then release his Flying Saucer and Reaper's Scythe against Zeldris, but they were easily overpowered by Zeldris. Dubs was then knocked out with Ominous Nebula. The effect of Breath of Bless dissapear from them, lending them to known that they have been controled by someone else.

Zeldris arrives to Liones where the Supreme Deity was fighting the other Sins. He held back the Supreme Deity, allowing Meliodas to attack her, leading her to claim that he wants to kill her lover's mother just as he killed his own father. Elizabeth then confronts her by demanding that she leave her and declaring that there was never love between the two, warning her to confront her if she continues to hurt those she loves. The Supreme Deity claims that neither understands that the eternal conflict to which the Demon and Goddess Clan were bound by the Holy War was necessary to maintain balance in the world. When Elizabeth asks why, Meliodas says that from the Demon King's memories he knows that both gods were created with the mission of continuing an eternal conflict and that for them the Holy War is nothing more than a game. The Supreme Deity says that an inferior being cannot have an opinion on the intentions of a god and that she must destroy them all for the Holy War to start again. During her final confrontation with Meliodas and Zeldris, she is finally overcome by their joint efforts. As she fades away, she berates them that by destroying the balance of the world they will create an era of chaos, but the brothers claim that no matter that kind of era comes, they will decide their future for themselves. Thus, the two use their Combined Technique: Tyrant Killing to destroy the Supreme Deity.

The next day, Meliodas and Elizabeth celebrate their wedding with everyone celebrating. Meliodas finally manages to make amends with Zeldris who leaves for the Demon Realm as the new regent and allows Meliodas to go to visit him.

At some point, Gelda and Zeldris visit Meliodas and Elizabeth in Liones and are surprised to discover that she is pregnant.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse[]

Demon Realm arc[]

When the Four Knights of the Apocalypse and company enter the Demon Realm, Schwartz informs Zeldris, who became the new Demon King, of their entrance. Knowing neither their identity nor their motives, Zeldris orders the group to be seized and brought over to him at once.

Receiving the Percival Platoon, Zeldris says that he never expected that meeting to happen like this. Although everyone is startled by his presence, Percival approaches Zeldris calling him "Thel". Zeldris clarifies that it is what he used to call him when he was a child, something that leaves everyone surprised.

After Percival has a reunion with Gelda, Zeldris explains how the two took care of him after arriving in the Demon Realm by mistake fifteen years ago, also teaching him the demon tongue. After hearing from Percival how his grandfather was killed by his father, Zeldris says how familiar that is with his own life in which he was his father's puppet until he and his brother had to finish him off. Although he confirms to Percival that he was tough on him, Zeldris claims that he had to do it to move on, just as Percival himself is much stronger.

Upon learning that they want to go to Camelot, Zeldris confirms that something recently caused a connection between the Demon Realm and Camelot to be created, but that there are some problems if they want to go there. Percival asks him to let him see his other friends, so Zeldris first asks them to confirm their names to ensure there are no Camelot infiltrators among them. Upon hearing Tristan's name, Zeldris reveals him as his nephew, shocking everyone by revealing that Meliodas is his older brother. Zeldris is surprised to learn that Percival is one of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse, but when Percival realizes that he has lost the Dragon Handle, Zeldris despairs and orders all the demons to search for it.

Zeldris then greets Tristan, telling him that he already knows that they are looking for an entrance to Camelot, but that he should stay away from it. Tristan questions if it's because the demons don't like the son of a Goddess running wild there, leading Zeldris to say that Tristan doesn't resemble Meliodas beyond looks. However, Zeldris reveals that the entrance is on the Behemoth monster's back, stating that it is impossible to survive if they go looking for it.
