The Seven Catastrophes
The Seven Catastrophes「七つの災い, Nanatsu no Wazawai」are a group of otherworldly beings recruited by Lillia introduced in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. They serve as the main protagonists of the game original story arc, Catastrophe: Sacrifice. Although their main goal is to support Lillia's plan on destroying Britannia, the group is currently dealing with the threat of the Three Nightmares, ironically conspiring to save the world they aim to destroy.
Background[]
After the events that resulted on Lillia's defeat by the hands of The Seven Deadly Sins, the mage kept vainly struggling on controlling her Awakened form. Weakened and being hunt by the Holy Knights, Lillia realizes she wouldn't be capable to achieve her dream of destroying the world by herself and starts seeking for sacrifices in order to summon allies from other worlds.
After various unsuccessful summoning spells, Lillia manages to recruit Valenti, a weapon researcher once trapped in a laboratory forced to develop weapons. The two becomes the founding members of their newly entitled group 'The Seven Catastrophes'.
Much later, Lillia and Valenti's combined efforts at the caves of Balleno resulted on Eastin Amabyllis' summoning and later alignment to the team, a nobless from another world seeking revenge for her family's demise.
Later, a failed attempt to steal old manuscripts from the Black Magic Hall that resulted on Lillia getting kidnapped by Merlin forced Eastin and Valenti to summon a new ally capable to free the mage from her space-time prison, the summoning magic brought Mono, an artificial human being created for the sole purpose of killing and following orders, who agreed on joining the team after Valenti proposed her to find a new purpose on life as her own person.
With the manuscript on her hands, Lillia manages to settle the group at the Timespace Junction, a connecting point between dimensions where the space-time fabric can be easily distorted. From there, she is capable of summoning the remaining members of the group :
- Roxy, a former warrior slave which agreed on helping the team in exchange of food and a place to sleep ;
- Shin, an interdimensional robber born on an apocalyptic world ;
- Camila, a former goddess of the Beastmen seeking for revenge against humanity.
In the time between Camila's summoning and the incident at Kata Village, unbeknown to the Catastrophes, a mysterious being has been observing them from the Timespace Junction and began using the negative energy of their traumatic memories to give birth to the Three Nightmares.
Each member is associated with a state related either to their own personal goals or an outstanding personality trait.
- Lillia is the Desire, representing her dream of destroying the world in order to prove herself as a mage capable to surpass Merlin.
- Valenti is the Obsession, representing her obsession for freedom after spending her whole life confined forced to develop magical weapons.
- Eastin is the Authority, representing her goal of having her homeworld on her feet after her family's demise by the hands of her uncle.
- Mono is the policy of Blood and Iron, representing her devotion to her role as an assassin.
- Roxy is the Madness, representing her mental instability resulted from the trauma of her sister's betrayal.
- Shin and Camila's states are yet to be revealed.

- They might be inspired by a mix of the Benevolent Kings Sutra, the Medicine Master Sutra and the The “Perceiver of the World’s Sounds” chapter of the Lotus Sutra definitions of the seven disasters said to be caused by the slander of the buddhism teaching.
- This is the first group in the series to have more female members than male members.
- Its also the first group to be led by a woman.
