Sigurd「シグルド」 is the crown prince of Xatenburg appearing in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross.
Appearance[]
Sigurd is a tall muscular young man with brown hair and light brown eyes. He is oftenly seen in a full-body black armor.
Personality[]
Sigurd usually maintains a calm and nonchalant behavior, even during battles. Despite disliking the Seven Deadly Sins thinking they are Demons he would willingly team up with them against a common enemy.
History[]
Sigurd is the prince of the kingdom of Xantenburg and the current leader of the Royal Family. He works to, one day, be recognized as a great warrior like his father, Siegfried, once was.
Having heard about the rumors of a strange tavern owned by powerful demons, he went on a mission with his subordinates to hunt these mysterious entities.
Abilities and Equipment[]
Sigurd is considered the strongest human in Midgard, his abilities in swordsmanship equate with Meliodas' though Meliodas was holding back as he was trying not to kill Sigurd.
Being a half-demon, Sigurd is able to utilize the mysterious jet-black power of darkness, which he uses to power-up his sword's blows. However, it's currently unknown if the fact he's also half-human affects the potential of his demonic powers.
Abilities[]
- Guardian Slash: Sigurd imbues Gram with darkness to attack his opponents, this technique is similar to Enchant: Hellblaze. It also steals power and weakens opponents as well.
- Slay Fafnir: Sigurd materializes his magic into a black dragon to attack his opponents.
Equipment[]
- Legendary Sword Gram: 'The sword that cuts through sin', a dual-handed sword passed to Sigurd from his father.
Relationships[]
Brunhild[]
Sigurd was arranged to marry Brunhild after she was banished from Asgard and turned into a human by Odin. The prince eventually fell in love with the former Valkyrie, but, for unknown reasons, dissoluted their engamement, and their relationship became estranged. Despite that, they willingly teamed together against Meliodas. It's later revealed he never stopped loving her, but was willing to risk his life in a tournament to have his wish as it’s prize to have the Gods save her from a currently unknown unfortunate fate. Sigurd was distraught when Odin turned her back into a Valkyrie to serve him once again.
Trivia[]
- Sigurd is named after the legendary dragon-slaying hero of the germanic heroic legends who is said to have killed the dragon Fafnir. Sigurd's father, Siegfried, shares one of the variations of the hero's name.
- Even though his mission is that of hunting down the Demons residing on the land of Midgard, it's currently unknown if Sigurd is aware that he is a half-demon himself.
