Six Knights of Darkness

The Six Knights of Darkness

The Six Knights of Darkness「闇の六闘士, Yami no Roku Tōshi[1] are six of the strongest warriors of the Demon Clan. They are led by Schwarz, under the rule of the current rulers of the Demon Realm, Zeldris and Gelda. They were formed to replace the Ten Commandments, who served the Demon King until his destruction at the hands of his sons and the dissolvement of the Ten Commandments after Meliodas erased their cursed powers.

Overview[]

The Six Knights of Darkness were apparently formed early in Zeldris and Gelda's reign over the Demon Realm in order to maintain order due to Zeldris lacking the godly power his father possessed. Like many Demons, they seem to greatly worship the Ten Commandments as true heroes, but equally despise the Seven Deadly Sins who had almost decimated them. They do not seem to have renounced their hatred towards the Goddess Clan and its allies nor do they forgive Meliodas for his betrayal 3000 years ago. Without the Commandments granted by the previous Demon King, they remain unable to match the Ten Commandments,[2] but are still powerful enough to maintain order in the Demon Realm in the name of Zeldris. Despite this, they find themselves completely powerless against Nanashi, whose strength barely matches that of the Four Archangels.

Plot[]

Demon Realm arc[]

As soon as the Four Knights of the Apocalypse and their allies, arrives to the Demon Realm, Tristan Platoon, Lancelot and Ioradio Velviger gets separated from the rest of the group. Then, they are surrounded by Schwarz and his men and are taken into custody, but manage to be freed after Ioradio reveals that one of the Four Knights is actually Percival, the savior of the Demon Realm.

Later on, as the Four Knights and their allies are training until they are ready to face Behemoth, Schwarz decides to challenge Tristan to test the strength of the son of Meliodas, one of the Seven Deadly Sins, who defeated their heroes, the Ten Commandments, while his men watch and cheer for Schwarz. After a fierce battle, Schwarz defeats Tristan, mocking him and his father saying that he must have used a trick to beat the Ten Commandments.

A day later, while the group senses the Behemoth's magic coming closer, Schwarz declares that in six days, they will guard Percival on his way to the Behemoth, but before that, they must clean out the intruders who invaded the Demon Realm. With that in mind, they fly out to look for the Chaos Knights and eliminate them all.

Later on, as the Four Knights and their allies travel across the Behemoth's back, the Albion they were piloting is taken down by the Chaos Knights, forcing them to get out of it. Observing the Chaos Knights have difficulty to survive the Behemoth's evil force, the heroes decide to just leave them to die, but as a last resort, the Chaos Knights reveal that they have captured not only Gawain but Schwarz and his men too, due to one of their knights, Tomintoul, having Goddess Clan's Light Magic.

After witnessing Percival being teleported away to a one on one combat with Mortlach, Schwarz and his men are fused by Rosebank using her Chaos Staff into the Testament Beast, a monstrous creature, so it could aid her and the other knights in their battle.

The demons return to their original form after Tristan and Gawain defeat the Testament Beast. They then set about apprehending the defeated Chaos Knights.

Trivia[]

  • The members of this group share a strong resemblance with the members of the Six Knights of Black:
    • Schwarz looks similar to Bellion, with very similar clothing and sword. Both are the leaders of their groups,
    • Gallow looks similar to Pump, but with an elongated head.
    • Asyl looks similar to Dahaaka, but with more and longer hair. They have similar electric abilities generated by their hair.
    • Dim looks similar to Atollah, being much shorter in stature and having several spikes in its head.
    • Nora looks similar to Galla.
    • Bianchi looks similar to Derocchio, but has a tiger-like motif rather than a lion's.
  • Although it is stated that the Six Knights of Darkness would never be as powerful as the Ten Commandments, the fact that the Testament Beast is more powerful than Melagaland[8] suggests that only three Knights of Darkness may be enough to "match" a single Commandment.
